Nestled at the bottom of the south lake district, Abbey House Hotel offers the perfect venue for your wedding. Behind the imposing sandstone wall lies one of the lake districts best kept secrets and one of the most romantic venues in the area. The hotel is set in 14 acres of stunning gardens and grounds which make an ideal setting for your photographs or drinks on the lawn with family and friends.
Why not make it a day to remember by having your marriage ceremony, wedding breakfast and reception at the hotel. We are licensed to hold civil wedding and civil partnership ceremonies and can recommend a registrar to conduct your service. Your ceremony will be unique to you and can be small and intimate in one of our private rooms, or it can be a grand affair in one of our large suites. A maximum number of 180 guests can be seated for the wedding breakfast in our largest suite and their every whim catered for.
Food is one of the most important aspects of any wedding reception and our team of chefs will ensure your chosen menu is prepared with care to create a truly memorable wedding breakfast for you and your guests. The head chef and his team prepare a wide choice of food from simple, light dishes, to modern dishes using locally sourced produce. We offer a variety of dishes to suit every taste and you can choose to tailor make your own menu from our menu selector ensuring a unique wedding breakfast and drinks package. Children are catered for with their own menu and why not greet your guests with a drink on the lawn and homemade canapés.
If your guests require accommodation for your special day, we can provide you with a number of bedrooms at special rates. The hotel offers beautifully appointed guest bedrooms in a number of styles and guests can reserve family suites or even four poster rooms.

You should expect the best on your special day and that is why we provide an experienced wedding co-ordinator to work with you to ensure that you and your guests enjoy a day which meets your expectations in every way. No detail is overlooked and included in your wedding package is complimentary honeymoon suite, floral arrangements and table plans to name but a few.
Abbey house is delighted to hold the Evening Mail Wedding fair on the 21st of February which gives us an ideal opportunity to show prospective wedding parties round the hotel. There will be experienced staff on hand to answer any questions and there will be special offers available on the day. The fashion show is a must for prospective brides and this commences at 12pm and at 2pm. Why not take a walk through the beautiful gardens and envisage you and your guests on the lawn.
